Meet your webinar faculty
Neil Fletcher is a Roald Dahl Clinical Nurse Specialist at Barts Health NHS Trust, where he works with children, young people and families across paediatric services. His role focuses on supporting young people to navigate the challenges associated with long-term health conditions and helping them develop the knowledge, confidence and skills needed to manage their health effectively.
Neil has extensive experience working with young people and is passionate about improving communication between healthcare professionals and adolescents. He has a particular interest in supporting clinicians to build confidence when discussing sensitive topics and creating environments where young people feel safe, respected and empowered to engage in their care.
Through clinical practice, education and service development, Neil works to improve young people's experiences of healthcare and support better engagement, self-management and health outcomes.
Jessica Semedo is a Roald Dahl Transition Nurse Specialist at Barts Health NHS Trust, supporting young people as they move from paediatric to adult healthcare services.
Jessica works closely with multidisciplinary teams, young people and families to improve transition experiences and promote independence, engagement and self-management. Her clinical interests include adolescent health, communication skills, transition pathways and supporting vulnerable young people through periods of change.
She is passionate about helping healthcare professionals develop practical skills that enable meaningful conversations with young people and improve the quality of care delivered during adolescence and early adulthood.
